The next stop will be one of the most visited place in Dhofar - the white-sand Al Mughsayl Beach. The landscape of this place is simply amazing, the mountains at the background, sound of the waves of the Arabian sea, man-made huts and coconut trees providing the shades and the endless sand to walk on.
On the Mughsail Lagoon, you will be fascinated to find lot of migrating birds. The lagoon is a habitant for the migrating birds from Africa, Asia and Europe, including flamingos. Sit, relax and watch the birds.
The Marneef Cave is a big hard rock structure visible like a mountain. As there’s a blowhole as well, which is formed due to sea cave that grows land wards and upwards into vertical shafts. As a result of this geometry, water blasts out of the holes forming blowholes.
Mughsail Blowholes are 50 steps away from the Marneef Cave. During Khareef season, due to high tides and rough sea, the blow hole water jets are as high as 28 meters in the sky. In other seasons its lesser in height and in some days of the year it’s near to nothing.
On the way back, the experienced guide of Beautiful Salalah will take you to the hidden beach, some people call it Masood Beach. The view of this pristine beach is mesmerising from the top of the cliff. It is indeed one of the best sights one can have in Salalah.
